Description
This is a book for girls. It is about girls and theirrelationships. It is about girls and their relationship to God, to each other, and to the world.
When you become a member of the body of Christ, you become a daughter of God. You are a princess in thetruest sense of the word, because you become the daughter of the one and only King for eternity! This book will help you live like a daughter of THE KING.
When I surveyed hundreds of teen girls about what topics they would like to study, one young lady wrote, “We want to study about the tough stuff in life . . . drugs, alcohol, death, abuse, eating disorders; things girls often need a chance to talk about but don’t ever get. We want to talk about guys, being a strong Christian, and standing up for what’s right. We want to find ways to have fun with other Christians.”
Another young lady wrote, ”We want to talk about dealing with family issues, parents and siblings. We want to talk about dating, healthy relationships, making new friends, keeping old friends, and loving yourself for who you are. We want to be confident and brave and be able to stand for what we believe despite the odds.”
I know sometimes it is hard to believe in God. We wonder why He lets so many bad things happen. We wonder why our classmate committed suicide. We wonder why terrorists are trying to kill us. We wonder why young ladies are often mean to each other and say such hateful things. We think about guys. A lot. We wonder what it would be like to be a movie star. What would it be like to have a date with one? At the very least, we would like to be friends with one!
We want to obey our parents but we also want to distance ourselves from them. We want to find out who we really are. We want to do well in school, but we don’t want to appear to be too smart and be all about the books.
I know you really want to wear the latest styles and look stunning. I mean, we all want to be noticed, don’t we? I am sure that many of you would like to be great athletes or beauty queens. I know many of you have friends who are not Christians but you consider them really nice people. I know you wonder about your future. Will I get married? If so, will I marry a Christian? Will I have a job or stay home? Will I raise children?
Girls, I don’t know what your future holds; but I do know Who holds your future! Let’s study God’s Word together to make sure that we are trusting Him with our future. As one young lady so aptly put it when I asked her what she would tell another young lady who was trying to be a strong Christian, “I would tell her that strength comes from deep within and looking for it is easier for some than for others. Remember, though, for something to be found, it must be sought. Always remember the importance of doing what is right and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Strength as a Christian is mighty and the strength is there if you look for it!”
I couldn’t have said it better myself! This study will help you find that strength. Another young lady put it this way, “I would probably tell her to stand strong even when she stumbles or falls. I know what it is like to struggle as a Christian and sometimes mess up or make a bad decision, but the most important thing is to keep trying and never, never, never give up!”
Being the daughter of The King will not always be easy. In fact, sometimes it will be hard simply because of your royal bloodline through Christ. There will be daily temptations and tough choices to make. But your Father has left you awesome instructions. Let’s study them together!
